Three steps between you and a lower rate

No phone tag, no dealership-style pressure. You stay in control the whole way through.

  1. Tell us where you drive

Rates are set state by state and even ZIP by ZIP. Your ZIP code is where every accurate quote starts.

  2. Answer a few quick questions

Your vehicle, your driving history, and the coverage you actually want. Most drivers finish in a couple of minutes.

  3. Compare and choose

Review your options side by side and continue with the one that fits. Nothing is bought until you say so.

Coverage

Know what you are comparing

The cheapest premium is not always the cheapest year. Here is what sits behind the number.

LiabilityRequired in nearly every state
Pays for injury and property damage you cause to others. Required in nearly every state, and the minimum is often far below what a serious accident costs.
CollisionUsually required if financed or leased
Repairs or replaces your own car after a crash, whoever was at fault. Usually required while you are financing or leasing.
ComprehensiveOptional
Covers the damage that has nothing to do with driving: theft, hail, flood, fire, falling branches, a cracked windshield.
Uninsured motoristRequired in some states
Steps in when the driver who hit you has no insurance or not enough of it. Often the cheapest meaningful coverage on the page.
Medical payments / PIPRequired in some states
Helps with medical bills for you and your passengers after an accident, regardless of fault. Required in some states.
Roadside and rentalOptional add-on
Towing, jump starts, lockouts, and a car to drive while yours is in the shop. Small add-ons that decide how a bad day goes.

Same driver, same car, very different prices

Every insurer weighs risk with its own formula. Two carriers can look at the identical driver and land hundreds of dollars apart, which is exactly why a single quote tells you nothing about what you should be paying.

01

Your rate drifts even when you do not

Insurers refile rates regularly. A price that was competitive when you signed up quietly stops being competitive, and renewal notices rarely spell that out.

02

Life changes move the number

Moving, a new car, a shorter commute, a birthday, an accident dropping off your record, adding a driver: each one can reshuffle who is cheapest for you.

03

Discounts are not automatic

Multi-policy, safe driver, low mileage, good student, paid-in-full, telematics. You generally get them by asking for them, not by waiting.

04

One search, many carriers

Instead of filling out the same form on six different websites, you answer once and see what the market says.

Questions

How much does this cost?

Nothing. Comparing quotes here is free. If you buy a policy, you buy it from the insurer at the insurer's price.

How long does it take?

Most drivers get through the questions in about two minutes. Having your current declarations page and your VIN nearby makes it faster and more accurate.

Can I switch before my current policy ends?

In most cases yes, and any unused premium is typically refunded. Start the new policy before you cancel the old one so you are never uninsured, even for a day.

Who are you, exactly?

We are an independent comparison and referral service, not an insurance company. We do not issue policies, set prices, or decide claims. We connect you with licensed insurers and agents who do.

What happens to my information?

It is used to match you with insurers and agents who can quote your situation, as described in our privacy policy. Read it before you start if you would like the details.
